01 The story, in three paragraphs

Why everyone keeps coming back.

Panera Bread in Streamwood, IL, is much more than just your everyday café; it’s a vibrant destination that beautifully blends the comforts of a bakery, breakfast spot, salad and sandwich shop, and coffee haven all under one roof. Nestled conveniently at 971 Irving Park Rd, this location has earned a well-deserved reputation for exceptional quality, friendly service, and a safe, welcoming atmosphere—qualities that make it a beloved go-to for breakfast, lunch, or a quick snack.

Step inside, and you’re greeted by the enticing aroma of freshly baked bread, warming soups, and brewed coffee that instantly stirs your appetite. Whether you crave a hearty sandwich, a crisp, vibrant salad, a comforting bowl of soup, or just a perfectly brewed cup of coffee, Panera Bread’s menu offers something to satisfy every palate. Customers rave about items like the Asiago Stacker — a harmonious blend of toasted Asiago cheese bread paired with savory deli meats and fresh toppings, delivering a delightful crunch and melt-in-your-mouth richness in every bite. It’s no surprise that fans like Raul Huerta highlight this sandwich as a must-try, ideal for a quick yet satisfying lunch.

Beyond the food, the atmosphere at this Panera Bread location stands out. As Glen Morris notes, the spot boasts a spacious, clean environment complete with kiosk ordering for convenience and a large seating area perfect for relaxing or working. Adjacent to a Target and other key retailers, it’s easy to pair your meal with some local shopping or errands. The staff consistently receives praise for their friendly and courteous service; the genuine warmth from employees—especially the enthusiastic drive-thru team—makes every visit feel personal and inviting.

Most notably, this Panera Bread location puts a tremendous emphasis on safety and customer well-being, a commitment reflected in their diligent enforcement of health protocols. Marc Rissmann’s experience underscores this, affirming the peace of mind customers feel walking in, knowing that the team rigorously adheres to safety standards—from checking health cards to ensuring everyone wears masks. This level of care elevates the dining experience, especially these days when a secure environment means everything.

While the café excels in its classics like the sandwiches and soups—with Jason Goldman appreciating the flavorful, if sometimes modestly portioned offerings—the beverage lineup is a mixed bag, with iced coffee noted for needing improvement, though alternative drinks receive high marks. This kind of honest, community-driven feedback only illustrates Panera Bread’s ongoing dedication to quality and customer satisfaction.

For anyone in Streamwood seeking wholesome, flavorful fare paired with dedicated service in a safe and inviting setting, Panera Bread on Irving Park Road stands out as a compelling choice. Whether you stop by for a quick takeout, a cozy sit-down breakfast, or a salad-packed lunch, this location hits all the right notes between comfort, quality, and care.

This location is always wonderful, but they recently took the extra steps to make it very safe feeling. Not only is this sign up right when you walk in but they enforce it. They asked to see my wife and my card and license. The family after us came in maskless and we're instantly kicked out. If you're looking for a safe place to eat look no further.

Wife loves it, 04/01/25 “Panera in Streamwood has truly outdone itself with the new Asiago Stacker! The combination of perfectly toasted Asiago cheese bread, savory deli meats, and fresh toppings creates an unbeatable flavor. Every bite is packed with a delicious balance of crunch and melt-in-your-mouth goodness. Whether you’re stopping in for lunch or grabbing a quick bite, this sandwich is a must-try. Highly recommend!”

Sandwiches and soups are really good. Very tasty. My only wish is I hoped they were as full as the picture would show on their site and on the menu board. But needless to say very good never disappointed in flavor. And there's a girl there in drive through that is super excited and very kind to serve everyone.

Staff is always friendly and courteous, the food is good; however the iced coffee needs to be worked on. The other drinks are great.

Very nice Panera with good service and great atmosphere. There is a large area with tables and everything was very well kept. They have kiosk ordering. Bathrooms were clean. It is located next to a Target and lots of other stores in the area as well. Go check them out!

They have a very good and large staff. But if there is a long queue, you can use the online computers to make your own online order. It is very convenient and comfortable. The taste of food cannot be described in words, you have to try it especially "Broccoli Cheddar Soup". I really liked this dish, they also serve bread with this soup and it's just fantastic. You can see it in the photo I posted in this review. Therefore, I recommend this institution one hundred percent. Don't forget to leave a tip because it goes to the whole team. Have a nice day everyone.

Wanted to try something different and it was not great. The tomatoes inside my sandwich were old and tasted rotten which made the sandwich taste bad even after i threw them out. My salad was still great and the new strawberry basil fresco was impressively good also! And you can never go wrong with the Broccoli and cheese soup.
